Mission: To provide an environment where curiosity and creativity flourish, while both children and adults learn together through experience.

Key Points:

• MY Museum opened its doors to children and families in July 1997 in Monterey, California, after its origin as a project of the Junior League of Monterey County.
• MY Museum is a community-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
• The Museum is a place where children are encouraged to interact with the many hands-on, educational exhibits specifically chosen to stimulate learning through play and imagination.
• MY Museum is the area’s only children’s museum between San Jose and San Luis Obispo.

Grand Opening: The new facility will open at 70% capacity towards the middle of 2008, allowing it to slowly open to the community and grow into its new home. The museum plans to open in its entirety within the first three years of opening.

Campaign goal: $3 million. $2.2 million donated thus far (7/07).
